Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

When's the last time you've heard a customer say something nice about AT&T?

Our products, customer service, prices, anything?

In the middle of moving the families phones from att to new carrier. Can't wait till I can move all of them the coverage has been so much better with the new carrier it isn't even close. And I am paying less and still getting unlimited data. should of done it years ago I am paying less than with the employee discount. unbelievable and that alone speaks volumes.

Great direct tv service? I have one friend who just got the past year and will be leaving when his agreement is up. He still loses receptions in storms. I have NEVER met one person who doesn’t lose reception in storms.

You're going to hear it right now: I love my AT&T service! I get 75Mbps home broadband, great DirecTV service, awesome programming with HBO, and fast reliable cellular service with great data speeds! I have coverage everywhere I go in the metropolitan area I live in as well as most of the nearby rural areas!

It was in the 90’s, IIRC.

If you are referring to existing customers - then yes, we in the Prem Field get daily doses of vitriol and spit flecks as they unload their frustrations onto us over our billing, our prices, our reliability , our wonderful overseas customer service and of course, the IHX guy who shows up trying to pitch cell phones - with a whole half a bar of signal - WooHoo!

At least 20% of my existing customers tell me to get our stuff out of their houses, especially the ones suffering week after week through the same buggy software issues that never get fixed.

New customers are mostly okay until they find out that their bundled package only means DirecTV and we shopped out their DSL and POTS to Frontier or some such since we don't have a Telco footprint in this area.

They also get gripey over the lack of voice control remotes, laggy DVR playbacks, buffering downloads and accuse us of being trapped in early 2000's.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln - what did you and Abe think of the play?

There are two types of customers at Randy's AT&T - those that totally despise the company, and those that don't yet totally despise the company. Those that don't yet will after they spend several hours getting transferred to various overseas service departments because their bill was mysteriously raised or their services screwed up after talking to one of our door to door sales contractors.

Believe it or not but there are millions of happy customers with AT&T. There are customers that have never had a single problem with AT&T and will never change to another carrier. You don't read about the happy customers because all you see in writing are the unhappy ones.

The happy customers will see a different side of AT&T when they finally experience a problem and then have to deal with another country to correct the issue.

It's irrelevant whether you're customers like you or not, we're the phone company and a duopoly, we're they going to go? when there's a duopoly, to Comcast … (lol) . All the major Telcos (Verizon, TMo and ?? sprint??) all have the same prices and service structures (ie. outsource as much as they can).

Don't fall for the "customer is always right" and "treat the customer right" that only applies in an open market when there's choice, there's no choice here.. so don't worry about customer perception..

I had a happy customer once, but that's only because I got his services working again after overseas tech support completely screwed everything up. Of course he was only happy with me, he had nothing but bad things to say about this company, its billing practices, and its horrible customer service from the other side of the world.

My Grandpa told me one over a beer at the bar that he had a happy customer back in the day!

It's a very bad sign when the customers and employees both have nothing good to say about a business.
