A lot of outside techs are being combined into large groups, new locations for most.

Hans has been very clear on the Verizon 2.0 roll out. Nothing nefarious is going on. Pay attention to the Webcasts because it is all there. The competition is going 5G and all their services and content will be available to everyone. No advantage of owning the last mile. Verizon needs to go 5G to compete. Hans has said it will replace all existing methods of providing services back in 2018. A minimal force will be required to support the landline side fiber back bone for that 5G network until the transition to a wireless backbone is complete. Time frame? I don't think Hans can tell us. Just be prepared because that is the direction Verizon is going.
Bc they can
It doesn't matter. Wireline will be sold and we will be forced to retire
Why are they closing so many garages
Roanoke and Lynchburg are just going to be slow for years to come. 5G isn’t deploying out there and you guys will never get FiOS. I personally would move closer to Midlothian to secure a job and focus on fiber full time. I understand you guys are considered as hybrid techs as you all are loaned often during the summer, might as well make the move permanently.
What about the techs out of Roanoke/Lynchburg?
Anything going on in Basking Ridge New Jersey? Are they hiring? in 5G? What type of skills are they looking for?
Any word on Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook?
I understand Culpeper and Fredericksburg garage are closing by 2023. They’ll have to relocate towards Manassas or Richmond. Stafford will care for the entire Fredericksburg, Culpeper, and Chancellor.
5G. They’re moving a lot of techs towards DC, northern Va, Richmond, and Hampton Roads.
