It took me a few weeks to figure out after working mostly remote for a couple of years. I started to go into the office. Due to the time difference, I tend to arrive to the office early. Couldn't figure out why a lot of co-workers didn't start arriving until like, 10 AM - 12 noon. New work ideas having people working a swing shift for thought work? No, they are H1-B visa holders coordinating work in Hyderabad. Entire teams hooked up virtually around the clock -and for a much cheaper price. It's genius. Bye bye prospects for a long term career at AT&T.

Normal business hours?? IBM India folks are not available after 10:30am CST and we are told not to set up any meetings/calls after 10:30am with Development Team as off-shore folks can't join after 10:30am CST....This is nothing new though but a lot more prevalent with the recent outsourcings...Also, now IBM folks are no longer using ATT mail so we are getting mail saying they will no longer be accessing or reading mails sent via ATT Mail so we need to add all their IBM email addresses to our address books? As if it is not hard enough getting a hold of these folks as it is already. Now that's partnership!
Where were you working remotely before you had no idea when people started working?
If you are a contractor offshore – you work for me – you need to work my normal business hours
I worked with international teams. I had meetings everyday from 7am-11am. After that I did whatever work I had to do for the rest of the day which was usually 4-4:30pm. My job was 80% work from home. I usually went into the office 2 or 3 times a week anywhere from 12pm to 3:30pm. I absolutely loved that job. Too bad that it was only a short term temp job. Hated to quit but temp jobs don’t pay mortgages.
You do know that they runs shifts in India, not to mention on shore by other Indians, yeah?
You do know that noon is around midnight for offshore. People who work with off shore have early morning meetings. Maybe they were taking calls at 6:00 or 7:00 AM from home before coming into the office.

I WFH, and go to the Plano buildings regularly, often when I come and go around the hours of 7a-12P, I primarily see Indian contractors showing up to work at 10, 10:30, 11 in the AM. Now I know why. I was thinking, gez, look at this c-ap work life. No, it's the TZ diff between US and India.
Yes, I was involved with work like that a couple of years back. Some of the offshore teams call it 'following the sun'. What a wonderful time it is...
