I have become a multi millionaire by working here 25 years and will retire soon. I believe in the American Dream but you have to work hard and invest smart. Today the majority of my income is from investments and so glad to see T stock finally doing well. The key to success is ALWAYS add value to the company or you become expendable if you just do your job like everyone else. Good luck with your future and goodbye after 25 years of the rat race!

Contractors (NPW) who were outsourced to Tech M have had their salary cut & were told their work will be sent to India in 3 months.

So, how much longer will people believe the lies we have been told? For years we have been told that taxes and regulations are bad. Do people see yet that regulation keeps corporations honest? Do people realize that if you don't lock up some executives once in a while then they don't believe that laws will be enforced. Don't people realize that wealth is power and democracy requires wealth redistribution downward or you get an oligarchy? This should be obvious to all.

Thanks for clarifying. Yeah the American dream is becoming more and more unobtainable for millions of Americans and the middle class is being wiped out. The disparity between rich and poor grows because of unchecked greed and a lack of oversight and regulations. The idea that industries will police themselves is ridiculous. They all eventually run amok without government regulation; that’s been proven time again. The banks crashed the economy in 2008 thru illegal and shady practices yet not one single banker went to jail.

The middle class was essentially created thanks to unions and Roosevelt’s “new deal”. We’ve lost sight of those economic principles.

I wrote the previous post, you are correct. I didn’t mean to denigrate the poor, they are as important as the next person, that wasn’t my intent. I grew up that way and have been able to live the American Dream due to upward opportunities.

My stream of consciousness was about the middle class and upward jobs most are aspiring to achieve are being hollowed out in our Country. My parents worked very hard for minimum wages for many years, I understand the struggles.

My intent was to comment about lack of fairness in our society including the poor. Capitalism has worked to lift more poor people out of poverty than any system known to humans. It needs some regulations to help keep it a fair system. Nothing is perfect

I like how the last post quickly dismisses poor people as if poor people aren’t also part of the workforce that are also hard working Americans that get up early, go to work, pay their bills, take care of their families etc. Many of the poor work not only full time but have a second job but they are still poor because of trying to support their family on minimum wages with no time to improve their situations. Let’s not treat the poor as 3rd rate citizens. Those of us fortunate enough to be middle class can quickly find ourselves poor with one lay-off.

This isn’t about political biases and what news or opinion programs an individual watches. It’s about Companies being ethical and humane. These aren’t poor people but good middle class jobs that are being eviscerated in our country for the sake of Greed.

They are hard working Americans that get up early, go to work, pay their bills, take care of their families, help the poor etc.. In other words, doing the right thing day after day only with the expectations of getting their fair piece of the economic pie. They are the backbone of our society.

Yes life can be unfair but our Country is headed for a bad outcome if it can’t be corrected. The evidence is already showing with the massive d–g addictions, homelessness, divisiveness and secular attitudes in our Country.

Companies will not hire unless there is increased demand for their product. Tax cuts during recessions were aimed at the middle class because they would spend it increasing demand so that jobs would be created. Trickle down tax cuts are a giveaway to the wealthy and do very little for job creation because will not be spending the money on the products that create jobs.

Are you talking about the 1% execs at AT&T that have billions of tax dollars to enrich themselves while offshoring rebadging & surpluses their employees?

In the late 19th and early 20th century they were called Robber barons, Rockerfellers, Vanderbilt etc...

Sorry, but it was intended to get the 1% rich, richer. What is it, 83% of the tax cuts went to the 1%?

Is it stealing or at the least unethical, if you accept something under knowingly, false pretenses ?

If the money is used to hire and raise wages it will also benefit businesses within depressed communities around the country.

Easy concept, If you supply people with more money they will buy more products, services and the tax coffers will increase.

Not taking money is not the same thing as giving money
