I believe the GATT rate is simply the interest rate of the 30 year treasury bond, right? How is the PBGC interest rate deturmined? Also will these two different rates ALWAYS move in the same direction?

Not sure what you mean by ( will it show) , if you mean vz bens, and rates, theres a difference between west and east, if east, I was told mid Nov around 15th. As far as interest rate drop, that effects GATT, usually between 8 to 9 % increase in lump. Some state 10, but it's closer to 8.75 for however it works. And that may take a month to reflect for next quarter.
Nov 1 today, so will it show numbers for January?
These people have been really helpful in answering questions about when to retire and don't charge to discuss any of this - 800-336-2553 They usually have some inside scoop on what is happening at Vz and the information has been helpful for me personally discussing benefits and what I need externally.
I read on here by management that took last offer that they left there lump sum in for several months and are taking it out now due to the numbers. don't know if union members have that option.

What I found out after numerous calls to financial people and vz Ben's
Vz associates will get better of the 2. 0.0 is best you'll get and in January only. Can retire anytime and commence to January, not just retire in January. You can commence next day if anyone wanted to. 12/31 and commence 1st..only thing is funds qont transfer to followingmonth after, as its after 10th of month. You off PR by 10th, commencement can be in next month forJanuary, after 10th funds in feb, but at Jan rate as that's your commencement date. 0 is best you'll get, feb is .25 as it increased 10/15 reflective Nov 1st for 3 months out ( feb) . PBGC is for all associates mongers and non, best rate used. Now.... on a diff note as far as eisp rumors, dont feed to much into it, but fin institute I use states a more serious rumor of offer was presented yesterday. Details are moot point, didnt indulge in it, it's a rumor, but will say they have been pretty accurate in past containing such inquiries.. have many vz clients from peons to high level gods. To feed into it, it's just what it is, but still gives a glimmer of hope more so, word " serious" gave me a bit more to hope for. Next week, next month?,dont know, dont care, just being honest with what was mentioned. If truth to it, may hear a ramp up next Cpl weeks of talk.
