Clearly, this is not an industry specific problem. There have been mass layoffs in every single industry, from Technology to Banking, Energy, Retail, and everything in between.
Why are we being told that "Unemployment is at the lowest its been in forever"?

Because the media lies, the government lies, especially when things are actually bad and getting worse. Time to wake up people.

"Companies lay-off and go under all the time."

Not like this they don't. Sorry, you can't pass this off as "normal" due to a little thing called facts and statistics, something I'm sure you're unfamiliar with.
Statistically, we are seeing more layoffs and at a faster rate than at any time except during the worst of the Financial Crisis, and this is just getting going.

I guess you have a 7 yr car payment and loads of debt, so your solution is denial, as if that will somehow save you. Good luck!

Don’t forget the unemployment figure does not take into account people who have given up looking. It isn’t a true representation of the unemployed by no means.

Companies lay-off and go under all the time. We also have record low unemployment and rising wages. Why? Cuz other companies are hiring
