11yKPSLH-ulx, When Scott Adams worked there it was Pacific Bell (1986 and June 1995) which later part of AT&T. And yes, he got a lot of inspiration from work.
Lore has it the guy who started dilbert worked at att and is where he gets his inspiration. All the cartoons almost fit att to a t.
I've never identified more with a cartoon character than this...
