Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Charlie struggles with technology

Here at BNY, he never accomplished much automaton, so he defaulted to heavy layoffs. The problem was, the lack of automation made the company vulnerable with so many people being laid off and no viable automation in place. At least one major outage was because he laid off the people who could have quickly fixed it.

He has a spotty record. Mage no mistake, things were getting hot for him at BNY.

We can agree to disagree which is difficult in this toxic environment.

I made this comment in another post.

Wells Fargo is still a spreadsheet driven company and it's like living in 1997.

Without giving myself away, they've been trying to automate my team out of existence for about ten years now, but what ends up happening is some half-@ss system is created, after much ballyhoo about how it's the be all end all.

Instead, we end up supporting the system that was supposed to replace us, because it doesn't work as promised.

So we end up with five systems to do the work that we used to do in one.

I'm IT, my job is to automate myself out of work, and that's fine, because something new always comes along to replace the old.

But at Wells, we don't automate ourselves out of work, we automate ourselves into doing the same old work, just in a more complicated manner.

My customers have noticed as well.

No one in IT, from the top down, is getting any awards.

Wells struggles to keep up with technology so won’t be much of a change. All spending is going towards remediation and consent ordeR work

No need to denigrate the original poster... he speaks the truth. Scharf had no impact on technology whatsoever. He allowed projects in flight to continue without review, even obvious train wrecks. He initiated nothing new but a nonfunctional vanity war room.

LOL - WF.com was offline or intermittent for 3 days due to an alleged "data center fire" on Tim Sloan's watch.

Why do BNY people continue to be under the impression that their experience is unique or remarkable?

Whatever terrible thing you think has happened to you or BNY, anyone working at WF can definitely top you.
