AT&T is where you go if you want your career to die

It didn't use to be like this, but that's where we are now...

Apparently ATT is where your career dies. I have applied for 29 jobs over the past 2.5 years here at ATT. Had 1 on the phone interview out of all those apps. I get canned responses like this,

—Thanks for nominating on this position! We had many highly qualified candidates apply to this job, and the Business Unit is moving forward with those whose qualifications matched more closely to the job requirements. Don't be discouraged! If you want career development tips, visit the Career Development site on OneStop. Check back on CareerPath often for more opportunities!
—Thanks for your interest in this position! We wanted to let you know that you are no longer in consideration for this opening.

I have 10 years IT, Customer service experience, owned my own business for 10 years, Bachelors degree, Navy veteran. Maybe it’s because I’m almost 50 years old. I even removed dates on my resume and just listed last 10 years experience.

I’m tired of being a Tech and want more. Really think it’s a lost cause here and every where’s else. Talk about demoralized. It feels like no one wants to hire an ATT Tech or person who is a Tech, no matter what other experience they have. I have personable skills. Just discouraged, because it feels like there isn’t a career progression here.

Time to try and start another business.

@11qtjHBR-abp

Who do you think hhc was replying to? It seemed to me he or she was replying to the OP and the subsequent posters complaining about the state of the company.

Randall is the most pathetic, tone deaf CEO ever and will go down as one the few hapless mo–ns who turned a Fortune 10 company to worthless pile of rubbish while destroying the lives of tens of thousands of employees.

@-hhc, you are spot on, even if there are downvoters, the fact is, if you don;t like its direction, then step in and make the most positive change you think can be made. Sitting back and being a little b1tch about it is worse than doing nothing.

If you think AT&T is so horrible why don’t you try stepping up to the plate and improving it? Chaos is the perfect time to show your mettle.

Nah... more than likely you’re just a keyboard warrior full of Internet courage.

Give an M0R0N a free forum and people like @foz, when they have nothing useful to contribute, will always find it.

"It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt."
Mark Twain (aka Samuel Clemens).....could never have said it better Sam!

At this stage in my AT&T LIFE, Randall is humorless and angry and growing steadily more convinced that he will never find happiness or success, thanks in no small part to the curse of the Antimidas Touch. when I think of AT&T , your world destroyed comes to mind.
the DEATHSTAR, everything they touch goes to shiiiit.

  1. I start with Nausea, sweating and salivation. leads to sweating and increased heart rate.
  1. Retching, with expulsion of gastric contents through my mouth.
  1. small long prolong farts goes along with the whole process, due to gas increase as a result of all the bullsheet Randall spits out of his mouth
