Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Gone from TechDev

I was part of the group sent packing in March. Shell shocked to say the least. I ended up with another company in August. I’m over 55 so i was very lucky. Then all the outsourcing began affecting most of my friends and colleagues. I wish everyone well, but looking back I was glad it happened when it did. And anyone who believes PLE or whatever they call it now helps is fooling themselves. I spent many hours taking classes and tracks to better myself, and got my Masters degree that AT&T generously paid for, and they let me go anyway.

Seems our friend has a real affinity for the work "jerks." You can spot them quite easily eh?

Well, as the old saying goes, "ya gotta be one to know one!"

Congrats on your new job. I was offered a spot with tech dev but decided to leave the company and I am glad I did. att sounds like a mess. The manager who offered me the job was real jerk and in my current position there I was moved to nothing but jerks. So they made the decision about leaving easy. I hope all the jerks have fun driving the company into the ground. Be glad you left the cesspool it deserves the people they keep.

You have all the carts and now a masters degree the company paid for to look for another job you’re much better off than those who didn’t.

TechDev labor budget is huge. It’s no surprise they’re outsourcing you guys. It’s s—s but that’s what happens when our politicians are bribed to make outsourcing or H1Bs easy.
