Nah I am done with telecommunications companies. All I want is a big pipe but they all seem that isn't good enough to just to sell a big pipe - guess they can't keep getting their bonuses if they just sell you a big pipe so they have to have some smoke and mirrors and try to sell you other items you don't need. I do use t mobile service though and they give outstanding customer service and I always get an american who speaks English when i call. I am paying less than when I had my employee discount that alone speaks volumes.

Whoever came up with the penalty clause & whoever agreed to it is T's greatest enemy. I sure hope those/that individual/s aren't still making decisions in the company

Heard conflicting rumors on how this went down. Leadership floated the idea and were told by the regulatory folks they could make it happen. Also heard leadership wanted it and regulatory folks were told to make it happen. Do know that people lost their jobs behind the outcome. Regardless, it was a bad decision that leadership ultimately signed off on. To think that a Democratic administration would sign off on a viable competitor being taken out was simply stupid. It is interesting that we now have a Republican administration giving the okay for the same thing. Conditions have changed though. We no longer have 4 companies that are reasonably financial stable. Without this merger Sprint probably won’t be around in a few years.

Yes it is Randy and John's fault for agreeing to that much of a penalty without first doing due diligence and ascertaining from those in government and involved in mergers the current views of lawmakers.

karma sux but the look on randy and stankeys face would be priceless. by the way I love t mobile and the service they give outstanding. they at least are trying to build a good company with direction.

@yfq, It gaules me to agree with part of your statement, but that sums it up in a nut shell. For the reasons the Fed said yes to T/TW (because of the lack of conflicting industries) they said no to the T-Mobile/AT&T because it would make them a larger monopoly.

But give the OP their due for the loss of cash T committed (if the deal fell through) because I believe the T-Mobile lawyers new that deal would never fly and earned their money with the cash guarantee when the deal tanked.

As for DTV, I’ve heard arguments on both sides....the jury is still out and if T sells it then let’s see where the dust finally settles.
