Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

You Unrefer

So who here has referred AT&T products and services to family or friends but not felt that great about it? There was always a big push to have employees act like sales reps for some meager award and recognition.

Since leaving AT&T and shopping around I found out the even with the employee discounts it may not be the best value out there. Especially with wireless and cord cutting. lets face it, it's not like years ago, coverage and quality of service is basically commoditized, so why not go with the lowest cost provider.

So now I am referring people to other providers that provide the same services but for a lot less. I feel better about saving people money.

Why would you refer anybody to art’s billing practices. I wouldn’t refer my enemy.

Whenever I have a “you refer” info letter placed on my desk, I turn it over for scratch paper. Whenever I receive a “you refer” email, I hit delete. Whenever they talk about “you refer” in my office, I tune it out! I would NEVER refer any family member or friend to have a service with outages to wait days if not weeks for repair. Or billing issues when they have to call about to get transferred around and spend hours on the phone just to speak to someone that actually understands english, and cares about their reason for calling and not just about a sale, because that is what the rep has to do to keep their job. To answer your question H$LL NO!

Never referred anyone to AT&T for anything and never will. I never wear any branded apparel outside the office because I don’t want people to know that I work for them.

If this company treated it's permtechs better I might look the other way and recommend their c-appy, non competitive service to friends and family. Or maybe not. I'm not going to be dishonest and recommend non competitive service.

And DEFINITELY not with the way they treat me and my coworkers. If you treat me like a field slave on a daily basis, don't expect any goodwill from my direction.

DigitalLife is a dinosaur. I am sure if it was sellable it would have been sold by now. Was not a bad idea to get into the home automation and security business. But it was terribly executed. Using a lot of proprietary protocols, thinking that they were still a monopoly.
A lot of easy self installation systems out there using open tech like zwave that are
cheaper.
Heck you can get Ring monitored security for $100 a year. Vs $500+ a year customers will pay for digit life. Also don’t have to pay more for things like a door package. Want smoke and co detector you can buy a $45 first alert zwave one. Digital Life probably have to pay $450.
