This doesn't sound complicated. If a business sells less product, it needs less workers. It doesn't matter whether it's printers, or landline telephony.

True, my brother was in a very similar situation (10+ years WFH)
I know a person that worked for HP, from home, for 12 years, when she was told not only that she had to report to an office, but that she had to move from Dallas to Houston, which was the nearest collaboration zone.

HP is another company that has been telling employees who work from home that they need to report to an office, in a "collaboration" zone.
