Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Financial Billing Operations (FBO) Any rumors or news regarding Monday 9/30 10:30 am ct meeting?

Sounds like 3000 people invited for an update on outsourcing to Accenture. Any idea what will be announced on plans and progress?

@dnio, I understand your feelings and i wouldn’t travel there either. Just the litany of shots (and I could be wrong) I would need to go through would be a non starter. Should their trainees come to us then here is what I would advise:

Train them, without prejudice, and show T why they made the mistake in showing you the door! Your job, soon after, will be to seek new employment. Let your Résumé reflect those final actions before you left.

Résumés need to stand out, for a perspective employer to notice it. A really good, new boss may raise that very observation after they have read it.....it’s a class move, leave with that class intact, a new boss wants that kind of integrity working for them. Good luck.

I'm phase 1 and am hoping to be let go by EOY. I do not want to participate in the knowledge transfer beginning 11/4 and there is no way I'm going to India. My biggest fear is that I will be retained for training. Give me my six months severance so I can take my money and move on with life.

Supposed given verbal notice with written notice coming end of October with 6 day work period including up to 3 weeks in India training/transferring knowledge to Accenture Indian employees

FBO: On Wed 10/2, Wave 1. One L3 work group and two L2 work groups were notified to train and transfer knowledge early Nov. Then prepare for surplus, as retire or MVO. Overall about 90 head count affected.

Has any individual domestic employees been told their future yet? Maggots said every individual will know by the October announcement, didn't she?? Good luck on getting your desired outcome. This is handled so poorly

Union not impacted by Accenture deal. All Bratislava under Maggie re- badged to Accenture employee by April. Domestically over the next 12 months functions will be turned over to Accenture and a vague list of functions not going was rattled off (perhaps the list was vague because her and her directs have no clue what functions are really performed). Caveat was given if a function goes that does not mean all people in that function go and if a function stays that does mean all employees in that function have jobs. More information to come in October detailing individual employee status, the wave they will be in and the timing of the wave however it was not clear if that applies to all employees, employees in early waves only, employees who have jobs, etc. It seemed to indicate there would be no re-badging of domestic employees to Accenture and those being severed would train the Accenture overseas employee either in a US office or travel overseas. All in all very poorly communicated and more questions raised than answered. Also, no Q&A session was allowed.

If your role is not being outsourced.. you will either be put on a surplus list end of October or you will be retained for "knowledge transfering" with Accenture which could be for up to 1 year. After that.. consider yourself done with AT&T.

Yes. As a domestic manager I couldn’t ascertain much of anything. Maggie mentioned some functions as staying but it was hard to relate her statements to the organizations specifically impacted. A really non informational call for us.

news are, all Bratislava under FBO Maggie is going Accenture, not much news for US people (but probably they will majority be as surplus, more news on this promised by end of October), still plenty of things are not certain, not even like Directors if they will go to Accenture too, or what or replaced... they kind of avoided answering many questions

I'm hoping for surplus. I don't want to work to the contract under Accenture, not that they want my menopausal self, nor do I want to support the contact under the same leadership that put us into this ditch... What say you?

Seems to be the quiet of the grave. I suppose we will find out tomorrow.

AVP boondoggle to Bratislava, betting you are all safe else they wouldn’t go in person.

I believe two in-person Bratislava meetings first, then one large FBO call for the rest. Doesn’t sound good for the Bratislava folks unfortunately.

Probably one call for In scope and one call for out of scope. Good Luck all!
