Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Thankful that a CEO has been announced

My post will generate the most negative votes. While this forum is cursing our incoming CEO even before he has joined. Is that not illogical? Give him him a chance. Imagine continuing without a CEO . Many more would have been fired without a map at the top . I think this is better than no CEO.

@11ge7BIB-1ufn To the person saying BNY is so small etc, think about what that means when a failed CEO at a bank the size of one department takes over from NYC

@11ge7BIB-1cpl - there is a big difference between wearing rose colored glasses and reserving judgement until the new CEO actually starts his job and does something tangible .

Most people at Wells Fargo are reserving judgement instead of engaging in a bunch of pointless trash talk about what he did at a completely different company.

Your experiences at BNY are neither unique nor remarkable for financial services - tinkering with employee perks and benefits, nepotism, kingdom building, and hypocrisy are common.

@11ge7BIB-1ufn The BNYM employees will be back here reading reviews in 12 months. Guaranteed WF, and you, show a very strong change in opinion. By that time, your rose colored glasses will be removed.

Who ever made the comment about Cathy - her present division at BAC is the same size of all of BNY with like 20 times the number of transactions, applications, and transactions. She also ran other lines of business at BAC besides technology, and these days, tech is the most important function at a bank. There were plenty of rumors that the job was hers, but that Moynihan didn't want to release her, who knows how true that is. Moynihan is another bank CEO who got the job because no one else wanted it.

I don't know why one very busy troll, or maybe several very disgruntled trolls feel the need to taunt WF employees. Its cute though, BNY has very little in common with Wells Fargo - your entire company could fit inside one of our divisions so your little comments mean nothing. Most of the people posting don't even have a basic grasp of the facts of Wells.

And anyway, if you're so unhappy there and he was such a horrible CEO then why didn't you leave? I guess its better to taunt people and talk trash and tell people you don't know to do something you never bothered to do.

You really think a nasty CEO is better than no CEO? The BNY stock tanked! Meaning the bad guys will be back there! Here the bad guys better watch out. This guy may be given them a run for their money. So this is positive dude! Don’t you get it ?

You may actually be better off without a CEO than with this guy. Check Glassdoor rating. Your prior CEO is at 72%. Charlie? Try 47% and with good reason!

Most of the old guard at his former place of employment was long gone upon Chuck’s arrival and even more were led out the door during his tenure so the “roots” theory itself has no roots. His last company judges him fairly by his results, his vision, and leadership and he was 0-3. Never were so many smiling faces seen in now years at BNYM. Wish wells luck as going to need it.

@11ge7BIB-psq Surely you are from Bony as we used to call that thing in the good old days.

As the oldest bank launched by None other than Alexander Hamilton himself , BoNY has remained unchanged since A.Hamilton told that staff that he will be back after a meeting with Mr.Aaron Burr in 1804 ! They were waiting for change ever since.

Now Charlie Scarf comes in 2017 and tried to clear the cobwebs and roots broke out. Look at their pathetic audit department. It’s worse than Wells Fargo’s . Same for compliance.

Scarf tried to move the needle hurting the chieftains of BoNY and many of those established creatures have gone the way of the dodo. It is next the turn of Wells to be cleaned up. I am ready for this firm to rise up again !

It may be better than no CEO, but it's like going in for brain surgery and finding out that your surgeon was bottom of his class and barely graduated. You should be worried.

I judged him more by the people he hired than anything else, especially in the early days. He hires nothing but yes men/women, and people who stand up to him are out, one way or the other.

In only two years, he turned BNY Mellon into a dysfunctional company with a toxic work environment. Employee morale is in the dumps (or it was, until we found out he's leaving!). He seems to think he's living in the 1980s, and we should all come to the (open plan) office and worship him.

He tried to get rid of work from home, in this day and age. That topic generated over 500,000 views and many thousands of posts on the company intranet. Only the class action lawsuit filed by UK employees caused him to drop the issue.
We were told that any remote employees would have two weeks to start coming to the office or be laid off. We have people who are experts on the system we handle who live all over the US, most of them not within a hundred miles of a BNY office. Nice policy, Chuckles.

He's all yours. Enjoy!

Most of the people who are cursing the new WF CEO are people from his previous company. But don’t worry. This site is small. The majority of the WF team members will cross their fingers, hope for deliverance, and believe whatever BS is disseminated by HR. And smile and be positive. Or else.
He’ll have his chance.
