Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Will working at Humana ever become less stressful?

Because I don't know how much more of this I can take...

No it won’t get better. I just checked in to see what’s happening at Humana since I still have friends there. I left almost a year ago and it was the best decision of my life there are better jobs out there. your life and health are too important to stay there! it’s toxic it always will be. it was one of the worst jobs of my life!

Looks like Humana management has been here. Further to job related stress, here are a few points to bear in mind. Humana and all health insurers are currently in checkmate. Their big plan has been thwarted. These companies are not good investments nor do they make good work environments. They are less than patriotic. In 2010, Health insurers had been banking on massive returns from Obamacare. However, in order for Humana et al to operate effectively under the gov't Obamacare bail out scheme they needed the addition of phase 2 - or a global trade deal, like the TPP, which would have allowed millions of immigrants into the country with access to Obamacare thereby overflowing the Humana coffers. Open borders would also have allowed Humana to employ an entirely new workforce at a greatly reduced wage – giving us the globalist vision of health care shangrila. However, fate stepped in and threw them a curve ball. Obamacare never made it to phase 2 or the global trade deal. The deal was shredded in 2016. Thereby, leaving Humana et al adrift at sea. Humana is currently operating under plan B - or dismantle phase- pulling out of Obamacare in 2018 when it finally became clear that phase 2 ie. TPP, the money plan, was non operational. Until a new global trade deal is within grasp, Humana et al are in limbo. They continue to hope and wait. Regrettably they are deluded. This will never come to fruition

Listen, here’s the thing about Humana. Good company, great mission. And I do believe they care about the members. The problem is, too much homegrown talent that have achieved senior positions by moving around the company and never getting good at anything. These are people who want a nice title, a nice salary but have no idea nor any desire to grow the people who work for them. Too often, these “managers” think that by holding all information and feeling they have to stamp their name on their team’s work results in a disgruntled team. There are great “leaders” who know better and do a terrific job. Unfortunately the ones who don’t are far too many and makes this company have a bad employment reputation. Challenge your bosses, if he/she gets p-ss-d instead of entering into a healthy debate (again, in the spirit of making the work outcome better) then leave that team. Plenty of jobs posted.

This is beyond stressful. It is abusive and toxic and I fully intend to do a full public expose on toxic work practices at Humana and unethical treatment of members by delaying or failing to provide necessary medical treatment resulting in sickness or death to its members. And before I get the "get a life" comments....this is my life and my mission. Time to shake up this machine!

Every job is stressful, yes, especially in healthcare. That's why good employers who value their talent/employees don't micromanage and overburden them with redundant tasks. This work environment is toxic.
