Now that's how a union works! I wonder if Prem Techs could join the UAW. Because the CWA certainly isn't earning our dues!
Do you hold the field workers or the CEO if ATT fails??. Same goes for Unions , hold leadership accountable!!

Splitting of contract dates was a strategy by Management thru long range planning. You act as if the Union was in collusion. The non acting for quick settlements of the last 2 contacts was another strategy of management. The rank and file clamored for quick settlement. The rank and file pressured the bargaining teams to accept and settle. The Union Leadership needs a person like yourself to lead. You’re smart and astute. You should step forward and lead the way rather than state the obvious and throw stones. Yes I know, you wouldn’t waste your time. If you feel so strongly about UAW, you should go work in that field. Be a leader not just a rock thrower.
News Flash Skippy..Your only leverage is in numbers and CWA has purposefully or out of complete incompetence allowed to split our regions contract dates out so they overlap essentially putting the company at an excellent negotiating advantage as opposed to a NATIONAL contract with a single expiration date (please see how UAW had a NATIONAL strike that included all members). As far as union membership unable or unwilling to strike for an extended period of time..unless you are a new hire then you've been through at least a contract or two or several and should budget accordingly to minimize any potential monetary sacrifices that come with an extended strike. If you've been around long enough and paying attention then you would've observed how the company has consistently weakened the CWA and it's members come contract time over the years with my previous stated examples, which holds to account the lack of leadership of the CWA leaders and sacrifice needed from its members. UAW actually has what it takes to strike...CWA does not!

News flash Skippy. A Union is only as good as its membership. You wish and call for a strike but the membership may not feel the same as you. If there was a strike, how long will the membership be willing to sit out? You do realize getting the membership to man the picket line would be difficult. I’d put the over under would be 3 weeks. There is a reason why the recent 4 day play strike was held on the days it was. Between pay periods, to minimize the financial hardships for the members. Return just before the end of the month so no one loses their medical benefits. I have always said the first week out is play time, everyone enthusiastic. Week two is where good and bill pressure starts to mount. Week 3 is when due dates on bills are closing in, y’all of crossing changes from whispers to declaration. People do not have the stomach nor the commitment to sustain the duration. All the while blaming the Union for all their weaknesses. You cry now for what didn’t happen, you’d cry faster and louder if things went the way you wanted.
Celebrate, their victory will be short lived. The domestic auto industry is dying and will be dead eventually. So will the UAW.
