In my estimation all these folks sit on one another's boards and create a cult of personality. Meanwhile, the hidden costs in the long term work out of all this corner cutting and substitution of expertise is ignored in favor of the immediate unweighted one time gains.

Right. If it was Socialism, you wouldn't have a plane to fly in. You wouldn't be able to afford to fly in a plane anyway. When the plane crashed the government just wouldn't mention it. When the planes crash, you'd just rationalize, we have to accept some personal sacrifice, it's for the good of the society to continue progress.
A very biased story. Sure Boeing in hindsight screwed up. Its amazing how these folks usually go to the capitalism is bad canard. Does anyone know how many airplanes crashed in the former Soviet Union? Airbus too have issues with computer overriding the pilot. I recently watched a recreation of an airbus 330 crashing in japan due to just that. Its unfortunate that screwups like the Boeing deal costs lives. What about when government screws up? Aren’t more lives lost? Yet i dont year scramming for elimination of government. Lets put things into perspectives and move back to botching and moaning about ATT layoffs.
