Listening to Devin Merrill try and sound smart is a joke. This is the guy who led the DIRECTV Now product. How is this man still employed?

Oh this is so true, probably not just AT&T but most places. Reward the person who puts out the fire, even though they started it vs the person who prevented a fire to begin with.

He launched DIRECTV Now quickly with gum and duck tape and then got promoted. The product was never fixed and the rest is history.

There is a moral to this story but the missing piece could be is was a golden boy to the senior executives. Knowing the culture he probably was threatened to get it out the door ASAP in whatever state it was in then was rewarded.
