Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

FBO EMPLOYEES: What are your thoughts on the following

  1. Will Accenture be able to handle this and improve the operations
  2. Has your VP/AVPs planned and communicated this in a positive way and made rational decisions illustrating they are competent and understand the functions?
  3. Have they only kept the "best" skilled and talented employees and given them clear direction on their new roles?

Let readers know how you feel about this offshoring decision and plan!

I personally couldn’t care less if Accenture can handle it or not. Not my problem. You cut me, so why should I care? But to answer the question. I know my stuff. Very well. Ive been doing it for a long time.
And I still am called upon by others who have also been in billing a long time to help figure out what so and so was mistakenly over billed by $6million. And I’ll always figure it out and how to fix it. Sometimes it takes days to figure it out.
Can Accenture handle it? Good luck, fare thee well and I couldn’t care less.

With all the layoffs and outsourcing to date, we have not seen T blow their quarterly EPS market expectations out if the water. They still only barely meet EPS. Seems the rise in stock price has been based on future expectations and hope that Elliott Management involvement will improve performance and plans to reduce debt and buyback stock.

It is in total chaos and no one can tell us next steps or why they chose the ones they did to stay. Many better skilled people are leaving. I agree that Weaklend and her weak directs should be surplused for not properly managing the operation, making budget and improving efficiencies. Her prior job was running bill print - that isn't rocket science and her expenses were always above industry benchmarks.

Was handled poorly , our director will not address this, will not speak to our team and refuses to answer whether or not they were surplussed. Weak cowards leading the company is what it seems like. Plenty of good, hardworking people will be leaving this company. Outsourcing to save $$$ will screw you in the end. Hope AT&T is happy with their decision.

Yup AT&T upper management really
Screwed up the company and screwed the surplus employees as well as the outsourced employees. There is a place in hell for the upper management.

Will Accenture be able to handle this and improve the operations. NO. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT TRANSFER KNOWLEDGE THAT EMPLOYEES HAVE BUILT OVER THEIR CAREER.

Has your VP/AVPs planned and communicated this in a positive way and made rational decisions illustrating they are competent and understand the functions?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. DIFFERENT VPS/DIRECTORS MAKE THEIR OWN DECISION WHAT TO COMMUNICATE. THEY ARE NOT COMPETENT IN THEIR DECISIONS OTHERWISE THE MASSIVE CUT IN EMPLOYEES WOULDN’T HAPPEN.

Have they only kept the "best" skilled and talented employees and given them clear direction on their new roles?NO, I’M WITNESSING AT&T FAVORITISM AT ITS BEST. PEOPLE WHO ARE THE BROWN NOSERS HAVE STAYED. THE TRUE TALENT AND KNOWLEDGE ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT.

The only thing our leadership knows how to do well is cutting costs. They don't care about quality because when you outsource, you not only outsource the work but also the responsibility.

In the groups I'm familiar with, only a few upper-management people were told they're staying past 3rd quarter 2020. Everyone familiar with the daily processes and systems is being let go. So, it seems the "best skilled and talented employees" are all on the chopping block. It'll be interesting to see how they work at transitioning the jobs because (in many cases) there's no real documentation since duties change all the time due to new situations and problems that occur each month. The current people are only able to deal with new challenges by leaning on years of experience and familiarity with the systems. New people won't have that, and won't have detailed docs to use since no 2 months are exactly the same. I fear AT&T has been relying on advice from upper management that don't really know how complicated things are on the front-line because the troops have done such a good job handling complicated situations on their own without escalating. So the management thinks it's easier to do than it really is. We'll see how it all works out!

It’s a great plan. Outsourcing will save big $$ for next quarter’s financials
