Never will sell off NY. Fiber is still back bone of 5g. 5G goes to 1g then FiOS 10g. 6g is 10g FiOS 40 g. FiOS will always be faster. Programs will always get bigger. Pictures and video need more gggg's . We will all be gone by the time FiOS is done. Change cards we can hit 4000 times faster than we are now. Chill out and make the money Or take money and run! Lol

Not sure on that info last poster....but I’m pretty sure they will have no problem finding 26 techs to volunteer to leave in FAA 5 in NY....just my opinion...so many have been just waiting....

If there are not enough volunteers at the end of this year, is the offer made better early next year as an incentive to reach the desired number?

The offer was an enhanced package, it was turned down by the people we pay to represent us.

10k is nothing, considering first of year you get that in vacation pay. So you’re quitting a 100k dollar a year job for 50 or 60 k dollars spread out over 4 years. Your a financial wizzard. Don’t be stupid. After taxes you get around 180 a week and no more company 401k match. Your getting crumbs compared to management offer. It’s an insult.

I called my local and the only surplus they have is steak, lobster, and beer. If they let us retire early how are they supposed to stay in the black?

F'ING Trolls. I say it black, you say it's white. It's on the 2321 tape.

This topic was posted 2 days ago, and all locals deny that any surpluses were announced by Vz. So many posts, arguments and discussions about something that hasn't even taken place. The trolls have taken over this site.

I work at Ibew #2321 and corporate has not contacted us about an eisp. Something is seriously wrong with you to make up so many lies.

The only surplus I've read are on this thread.... A surplus of hopes and dreams.
Think about what you already have if you are a field tech.
Make 100k+. a year
Max out 401k contribution and take their 6%
Enjoy 5 weeks of paid Vacation
E days
Sick days
At least 1 more increase in lump sum which will apply in Jan 2020.
Getting paid to read and comment on how screwed up we all are on this thread. (Wireless and Wireline)
The bonus of learning how terrible CWA has become at sharing information with dues paying members.

Retire a millionaire at 55 and withdraw with no penalty.

Well, that is the downside of bargained-for benefits. There are plenty of positives, but downside is downside, and no way to pretty it up. And...Rumors are rumors, there’s always lots of BS talk.

Well, union wants its dues. An EISP takes those away. Hard to separate a dog from its bone.

So today we were told (granted via rumor mill) that an enhanced was offered and the union turned it down.
If this is true there will be asses to kick once verified. This would t be the first time people we’re screwed out of a good deal... remember the double eisp that the u ion screwed us out of about 6 years ago?
I wonder what a good lawyer would say about that misrepresentation.

We heard the offer going to barely no one, maybe one or two serts (if even that many), per garage, and maybe 1 central office tech, per territory, in small areas of PA.

There is nothing on any union website, silence is nothing new with the secretive union.

The letter last week posted about in another thread on this website only went out to those with a pension, and it isn't the enhanced ISP, just the basic one. The entire amount of people that may be allowed to leave may be 50-100 in the entire state.

Kinda weak, but that's what we are looking at for 2019.

I looked at my union website and the only thing it said was the company was looking to extend the contract that expires August 2019. I guess they are to busy discussing prime rib or lobster for the next stewards meeting.

So you're saying they're going to sell off the superior product, that is less expensive, to a competitor, and replace it with new, unproven technology? They can't even get full coverage in a stadium yet?

5g will be rolled out fast in 2020 and then the sell off of FIOS northeast will begin. That is how they will make up the difference of the 10b. That is the reason they sold off all the other FIOS decisions years ago. Needed money to get XO to build the fiber for 5g.

I wouldn't take a EISP this year, the feds are predicting 3 more rate cuts next year so the lump sum will be skyrocketing. plus by 2021 they have to meet there 10 billion dollar goal so an offer next year is guaranteed. might as well make another years pay on top of that.
