It isn’t real unless the conversation involved a canned message written by HR and legal begging read by your org’s VP.

Heard from several different landline engineering groups, that had calls about this today.

This is fake news. I can say with certainty that these conversations have not taken place at the VP level, let alone director and AM level. If they did, it was nothing official. More like wishful thinking. There are no plans for surplus or MVOs in the SER.

The problem here is that they keep the people who are well connected and are good at xxx kissing. People with the skills they need are thrown to the waste. Look at all these execs - they have no clue how to run a business and are just good at agreeing with everyone in the room. Look at this newly created transformation office - all smoke and mirrors, what are they really transforming? They need someone to take a deep look and get rid of these dinosaurs who have tunnel vision - start fresh with new people. Everyone laughs at them, disgusting.

So the theory of just survive until 2020 then you’ll be safe was BS, sounds like deepest cuts are yet to come

major cuts needed as the business continues to suffer. this isn't just an ATO exercise anymore, the business is getting 50% haircut, with new investment all but coming to a halt. with less business to support, puts even more pressure on ATO, Legal, Cust Care, Supply Chain....basically everybody going thru the pain of a dying business plan

This has been happening for the last 3 years. Nov-Dec announcement, january is the oficial call, final day in paycheck is march. Nothing new here, just business as usual for att. The history repeat for itself.

I can confirm that an offer is coming this year. Did not hear of dates, however, was informed that if numbers were not reached a surplus would be the next step.

"OP'r here: Director in SER had a call with their AMs, one of the AMs then had a call with their team".

If this was an ATO wide event as the OP stated, there are very strict rules on the communication around MVO and surplus. The communications are coordinated across business units and timed very carefully. In the unlikely event there even was an L3 call as the OP subsequently posted about (highly doubtful), to state there is an ATO wide event would be irresponsible and erroneous. I am in ATO. Know hundreds of others in ATO over 20 years across the company. Have heard nothing of a call.

Where did you learn this?

Somehow I think they would get more volunteers than they need.
