Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Mobility is the Money Machine

Yet they have demonstrated that they are willing and able to sacrifice the golden goose over other less productive investments... as what had happened to our brothers and sisters in other really good markets. There are no guarantees.

"Mobility has always had to earn the customers on our actual service!" LOL good one. your apps that you force on people's phone blow and are the first to be removed when the phone is unlocked.
But that is coming to an end as people buy their phones from the manufacturer and finance them unlocked through the manufacturer.
The mobility money train will be coming to a slow chug in the future. The mobility carrier will become just like landlines a commodity and good old att will still have to deal with just being a big dumb pipe so people can watch what they want do what they want with their phones without any carrier so called restrictions or billing practices.

Service was pretty bad for a period of time. Luckily we had exclusive rights to the IPhone during that time.

Mobility has been the money maker since it started in 1984. Beat every other business every year.

Yes it is, have you ever looked at your mobility bill and see all the extra trumped up fees, like a $1.99 admin fee per line? Think of all the lines out there and multiply that number. Other carries don't do this. So these added fees are a sneaky way to charge more but make the advertised price look lower. The more consumers that figure out that cell service is a commodity now the more that will flock to the provider that provides the best value and does not gouge its customers.

If you follow this board it's already been said that people were able to get lower cost cell phone plans vs the 50% discount employees get.

Mobility will become like land lines. No more phone lock-ins gonna have to earn customers on actual service.
