Farmers are going bankrupt... Good. Perhaps the US will stop subsidizing them to grow stuff that nobody wants.

"Most of the cuts were in Wells Fargo’s commercial bank and many impacted its team that gives loans to farmers". Farmers are going bankrupt b/c of the tariffs so the demand for new loans is probably nil. No need to invest in your farming operation if it's not bringing in any income.
No those layoffs were already in the works.
