401 dividend pass through option

I take the dividend pass thru each quarter for my VZ dividends from my 401k plan.

Does anyone know if that pass thru option continues when you retire?

No smart Alec, its called pass through. I know what "re-investment" means. And Yes I receive dividends and do not pay an early withdrawal penalty. And yes its a 401k

In fact, if you do not know what you are talking about then you shoudnt answer.

That's called reinvestment (not pass-through) but yes it stays the same. In fact, because it's a 401K, you are not even entitled to withdraw dividends as a check without paying an early withdrawal penalty (plus tax, of course).

If that is the question then the answer is yes.

I think the question is pretty clear. I take it to mean the 401k dividend pass thru. If one is invested in VZ stock as part of their 401k investments, they can elect to either receive the dividend as a check, or have it reinvested back into their 401k.

what does pass thru mean? You are either taking a distribution or reinvesting. Call Fidelity. I would guess until you change your options it remains the same.
