Rumor mill is churning with reports of a draw back or at least “hold” on the collaboration relocations in ATO. Any truth to this?

All of this was already known by those who were lucky enough to report up to VB. She advised us of this months ago, and it was shared on this board.
Problem was, MK did not communicate the same. Now that these two SVP have swapped, everyone under ATO has been advised.
It's going to be funny listening to these Executive Parrots telling us how the next fad is business critical and Collaboration Zones are now no longer the panacea.
@11GPdCkW-1kme - you said "confirmed today"
Can you elaborate? Because you made a reference to a 100 mile commute, and I saw the same in the thread where someone reported fake news about a VP call where they reportedly retracted the requirement to be located in a Collaborate zone, I assume you may be referring to that as confirmation. I call BS on that meeting. Not one person named the VP hosting the call which is very unusual.
“This was being reviewed with HR last we heard, and it would not surprise me if it's being revisited.”
Confirmed today. The whole mess is being revisited. Good news for those of us that were facing 100 mile commute.
Like what ive been commenting.. i still wfh 2x a week like what ive always done for 10 yrs. They can fire me doing vpn... then so be it. Fire me for actually working, so be it. I rest my case and my mind. I have rescue animals and animals with special needs, i cant leave them for 11 hrs and T doesnt really pay me enough to afford an animal sitter and im not going to cage them. My sister is nice enough to check on them when i drive to work 3x a week. Whatever works... so be it.
I am in ATO and a regular reader of this board. I was not aware people had been given instructions to relocate to a specific Collab zone / city. Have those instructions already been given or were they expected to be sometime soon?
This engagement zone/collaboration project has been the biggest cluster f— I’ve ever witnessed while working for AT&T. Leadership needs to decide on a direction then execute that plan. It’s starts with layoffs based upon location in relationship to hub cities then the list of hubs and satellite hubs gets updated prior to employees being notified of their new location with reporting dates “or else?” You have people scrambling around to get into the correct location before December or next September depending on how far you have to move. At the same time CRE is selling buildings and making their own plans to relocate employees. Just make up your mind already! Do I have a job? Do I need to uproot my family as condition of employment? Will VPN get me fired?
Project collaborate was communicated by a couple of cryptic emails and one short video. The lack of information in writing is unbelievable, especially at this scale. What ever happened to transparency?
If this winning strategy is so great, print it in the wall street journal, right next to the ad that says T can provide solution to enable other company's workforce to collaborate from anywhere in the world.
I think everything is on hold for now until the end of the year as randy and stanky search the sofa cushions for change looking for every penny to pay down their massive debt for the 4th quarter.
It would not surprise me. in Mobility. MK and VB recently swapped responsibilities. MK was pushing the collaboration thing (though not every VP under her was subject to it), VB not so much. They never have announced how folks in MK organization that fell into the "Phase 2" of Collaborate (moving to new work location > 50 miles in 2020) would be treated when they decide they can't do it (involuntary termination, severance eligibility?, etc). This was being reviewed with HR last we heard, and it would not surprise me if it's being revisited.
Given the amount of outsourcing, there won't be any employees left to fill a location.
I’d be shocked if they change course on the engagement zones and shuffling head count around unless there is some major restructuring about to happen. Even then it might just be paused until dust settles but you never know with this place. I give up trying to figure out leaderships next move
It would be a little ironic if they rolled out this collaboration thing forcing people to relocate and many to retire or quit then to say, oh never mind just kidding.... not funny but ironic mind you
Maybe it’s on hold while they prepare next surplus after 3rd qtr results are released. Doesn’t make much sense to move people to another location if you are about to let them go
I heard the same rumor but no one has confirmed anything. We do have a call with our leadership this week so who knows. Lots of rumors floating around these days.
