I can confirm with 99% accuracy that there will be a number of layoffs in the US on 10/31. I know this because I work closely with HR and got word that I will be one of the individuals laid off. I am not trying to scare anyone and am not here to quote that 5k lay-offs will occur but there will be a decent amount. It makes sense for a number of reasons:
1) Thursday of non- paycheck week( no explanation needed there)
2) not that they care but they can act like they care and will make Friday, Nov 1, your last day so you get medical for an entire month.
3) they have holiday parties, where they make employees bring in all the food, at HQ. The Halloween one was today. Why not have it on the actual day which is a week from today or the day before. A lot of the managers and HR doing the layoffs work at HQ, again not that this company cares but holding parties the day people are being let go seems extreme even for DXC.
4) They have quotas that have to mee every quarter plus everyone knows a new CFO is coming in so most managers want to cut as much as possible so their department doesn’t look bloated. In my department numerous people were let go the same exact week, week before earnings last quarter and the quarter before.
Again I have no reason to lie as I am being cut myself. They don’t let u mention names on here but I’ve confirmed this with more than one person in HR. Trust me DXC HR is a mess if you don’t think word leaks your pretty naive.
