Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Can someone put out an Apb for Ed Whitacre?’

I’m being serious here ... is there a way he could come back ? Love him or hate him
That man RAN THE heck out of this company ! Ever since Randal took the reins , we have been a laughing stock , with absolutely no direction internally nor to the public eye !!! Who voted Randal in , or kept him in this long ?!? It’s time to force him into retirement !!

Read this little ditty about Whitacre if you want to know how a real leader feels about him.

Breaking news! T stock trading up 400% in after hours trading on news that a monkey pressing buttons could replace RS as ceo.

Anyone with 1/2 a brain could be a great leader when you are still basically a monopoly. Heck I am sure you can have a monkey pressing buttons to make decisions and still make money. Add in fierce competition is what will separate the true leaders with vision from the posers.

Let's not bring the old dinosaur EW back. He never knew how to run SBC and left idits like Randall and Stankey in charge who are worthless. We need an outsider who can innovate profitably like Legere is doing at Tmobile

Shortly before his retirement EW had a meeting with his chieftains and declared the older legacy services were the place to be. Great leader for his time but it had passed. Wireless was a necessary evil. He had the opportunity to buy out Cingular with taking over the rest of Bell South. However their CEO made him a offer he couldn’t refuse which was the business he had spent 40 years in.

EW = SCAM ARTIST. In 1998 Whittaker said “invest and buy Company Stock because it’s going to rise, I guarantee it.” He awarded Quarterly Performance bonuses in the form of Stock Options in the 1000’s. He split the existing stock which was trading at $48.00 a share. Set the redemption of stock options at 5yr maturity at the buy price of $42.00 a share. Damn stock never got above $34.00 a share. Stock options were worthless. A Whittaker broken promise. I had 5000 awarded as performance bonus.

Whitacare always made money, kept employees at the top, and had the correct strategy to always move the company forward. He is now an old man playing with his bulldozer out on the farm.

I don't get the admiration for Whitacre, he's the one who put all this in motion by growing the company through acquisitions and not better products and services. And Randall is his hand-picked successor.
