The reasons are this: reputation!! nearly one stop shopping for most of your needs, the ability to nearly monopolize the industry, a good management system, AT&T is rotten to the core, decaying by mismanagement for almost a decade.

This is the "I hate all management" guy posting this, I just know it. The guy that doesn't understand that non bargained for people, that don't manage people, are by definition also "management". Though it's been explained to him ad-nauseum (that means A LOT).

Global business has ineffective leadership. Too many Chief Of Staffs that have been promoted to VP or AVP positions. These people are ineffective. Just because you were a glorified secretary at some point in your career doesn’t mean your next move should be running an organization. Try having an effective conversation with someone who is just a cheerleader. The sad part is that this group (and it is large) like to brag about being an ex chief of staff. If only they knew that when coworkers hear this - the word useless is used freely....retire...get out...you are all ineffective and are just collecting a large paycheck.
In the uverse world many of the best performing technicians have moved on to better jobs voluntarily. There really is no future at this place.
