Right now the plan is to switch them over to Osprey/AT&T TV because it way to save $$ as opposed to a DTv satellite truck roll but makes almost as much revenue as DTV sat.
Its in 10 markets and beta test is done. Fewer ‘resources’ needed. They realize that there’s little margin in streaming Dtv/att now. I guess the name change didn’t help. I’m shocked. So they ‘invented’ a new product Osprey / AT&T TV that still has a contract that locks in 12 months but 13-24 it goes up and subject to the annual price increase. It still has RSN fees. And ‘activation fee’ which is you setting it up. Push customers around and they’ll continue to leave

I’m not having any issues with my DTV except the occasional really hard rain. I just switch to streaming on my DTV app, no problem. Don’t know what all the fuss is about other than pricing

The on demand content commercials routinely freeze or fail to load because our CDN is bush league. $10 a month is worth it during football season, but just barely. The idea that people will pay $100+ per month is preposterous. It is inferior in every way to youtubeTV.

DirecTV is/was full of bugs. Why pay for a service that does not work? Customers are voting with their wallets.

Stank knows better than the experts or the customers what they need - an overpriced package full of krap channels people don't watch. The man is a business genius!

@1exw, The point whether it works or not is not the issue, it works well enough. If you are an employee the $10 a month with HBO is a no brainer. However if you are a retail consumer, the high price, the constant switching of the packages and then increasing the already high prices is crazy. Not to mention that the cloud DVR is in perpetual beta.

I have it and it works perfectly for me. I've honestly never had any issues, I don't understand what issues everyone is having??

And before someone yells at me that I'm a tRoLl, I'm not. My comment is the truth.

I subscribed for a while and found it didn't work. At the time, the smallest of the 3 packages had pretty much all the channels we wanted. So had it worked, we would have stuck with it. Then they converted to 2 packages, raised the rates and took away channels. Now there's no way I'd sign up for a package at the price points they have when they no longer even have several of the FEW channels we require.

But as others have said Stinky knows more about what I want than I apparently do.

I work in retail. Att TV Now is non existent. There is no quota for it. If we do sell it, we will not get paid commission.

They need to create packages of those things people want to watch. 90% of channels in my package I never look at. They keep saying that this model of cable tv is going away, however nobody's changing the world as we know it.

People started streaming for convenience, and to watch what they wanted when they wanted to. To get away from the packaged cable tv bundle and the high cost associated with it. For AT&T to try to recreate the cable tv bundle package business model and it’s high cost onto the streaming model is insane. It’s not innovative, and not what people want. The AT&T streaming product is unimaginative and expensive. People don’t have unlimited funds to subscribe to multiple expensive streaming services. People have limited resources. And AT&T in its arrogance doesn’t seem to grasp or accept that.

Stankface failed in his streaming project. Despite the fact that he knows much more about streaming than all those HBO execs, according to himself. This truly is a shocker.

Therefore, the failure will be concealed by rebranding and rebundling. Thus, AT&T won't see a need to break out the P&L for his failure in the 10-K.

Do you get it?
