Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

many of you may already know that company has pushed back its earnings release from Oct. 23 to Oct 28, a day before it is scheduled to reveal more details about its streaming service HBO Max.

But All this smells a little funky given the fact that AT&T had a date for its investor event at the time it originally scheduled its EPS release and it evidently felt at that time like there wasn’t a reason to push these two events closer together, so why is this impirtant? They have come to an agreement in principle, Elliot achieved in a month, what the CWA couldn't, complete spin-off of DirecTV, and Wireline.....stay tune.

Not accurate at all. Sure mobility uses some transport backhaul provided by AT&T landline...among MANY other LEC's and ILEC's. Mobility and landline are treated very much as 2 separate companies as it is. Mobility pays landline for these leased facilities already (they are not "free"), as from a financial standpoint they are completely different companies.

How do you think Mobility is dependent upon wireline (or vice versa)?

Splitting wireless from wireline is very easy. At$t just have to rent back the transport circuits from the buying company or a new provider. It could be true about wireline sellout.

Saying they can't be split is inaccurate. They are separate and not even in the same org. Not too mention Verizon did just that years ago.

Who knows if this post is true or not though.

I would not doubt it. Something similar or equivalent to what happened to at&t Puerto Rico. What was interesting in that case is that not only the wireline was sold but also the Mobility BU was also included in the deal. This people are eager to cut lose Mobility also if it serves theirs purposes. At&t the Media company wow.
