Why would anybody want that epic failure?

Okay look. I'm not a former DTV employee, I don't work in Entertainment and I have never even been to El Segundo so I don't have a dog in this fight. Having said that, it is my observation that although the DTV ice cube was melting before AT&T bought them, it began to melt faster after AT&T bought them. There are many reasons for this but I think that fact that the situation is getting worse is indisputable. Randall the Vandal bought that ice cube on credit and promptly put it in the oven.
NCR survived after AT&T chewed them up and spit them out. Maybe same will happen with DTV?
DIRECTV is a gold mine. Davey C’topher ran it in to the ground when he canned the smarketing department in Hotlanta in favor of some mo–nic nubes in El Smellgundo. Try growing a TV sub base when the 3rd string is on the field. Hire back the A-Team (and let them sit wurevver the heck they want) and between Atlanta, Redmond and heck knows where we’ll have an epic turnaround at DTV!!!
Why would dish buy it when they could simply get most of DTVS customers through attrition?
I would not be surprised if directv becomes successful and a mayor competitor after sale
When Randy gets ‘retired’ in April.
Then spinoff to the hedge vultures...I mean
private equity
Plenty of buyers but ATT bought a $60,000 Cadillac for $80,000 and after 5 years maybe they can fetch $20,000 for it?
Is it available at Dollar Tree?
Um, AT&T would. At "the absolute peak of the linear TV market".
No one apparently that’s why they came back and stated it wasn’t for sale.
The only time DTV was a failure was when T was managing it...
Private equity firms would be the mostly likely buyer. For the cash flow to fund other ventures.
