Does Verizon Have A Pension Plan?

Does VZ offer a pension plan? If yes, would you be able to tell me a bit about it. I am researching large companies and would appreciate this info.

Even if you are part of the pension group they will find a way to get you to quit before then. It's their job after all.

Go work for the government - here is an example:

We offer a pension plan that can provide an additional monthly retirement pension for life or a portable lump sum benefit

I think you will find very few companies that still offer a new hire a defined pension plan. So start comparing 401K options and matches.

The person who suggested “a billion dollars” is exaggerating
For example, mine is only half a billion.

Yes and no......management or union
New hires do not get a pension....they do however have a better 401k match to those that still have a pension

The retirees get a handsome pension, they receive full pay till death along with 1000 dollars till they reach social security. New hires get a fantastic “enhanced” 401k, basically 2 tier pension the Union feverishly negotiated... might I add, we do have the option for a lump sum, which most techs would receive 1 billion dollars. IMO, I would go with the defined pension, but who am I?
