I think you are falsely under the impression that the majority of the company is above board when it comes to integrity of the numbers. Managers have manipulated the numbers for years and when your department finds a fix, the same ol managers find a new way to manipulate or they twist the arms of their subordinates. Sorry, but your career was spent in a rose colored glass bubble. I had the pleasure of meeting people from many different departments over the years I was there, and conversations always ended up discussing the nature in which numbers would be met by hook or by crook and when they were not met someone at the bottom paid the price. Non requested services being added. Internet speed upgrade requests being handled as disconnect and connect new, as the new adds was a priority that month. Undertakings being closed by managers to meet the year end books and the jobs never were started in the field. Needed cable inventories moved off site to hide from the books when audits were done. New unused cable intentionally cut up and tossed in the recycle dumpster to avoid being shown as incomplete placement due to jobs being months behind. Cable for one job being used for another and then the original cable being reported as stolen to allow for replacement to cover the second job. Much more went on at T than many have ever seen in their ivory towers.
It is really sad to read the accusations being made. This is not the AT&T I know. I am legacy DIRECTV and have my own frustrations with how things have been handled by AT&T but I have never heard people suggest or felt pressured to do anything unethical from either company. I am in reporting and we are constantly encouraged to develop new reports to identify and stop any manipulation of metrics and mistreatment of customers. Its difficult to hear people allegedly did things like this when a large portion of the company is as committed as I am to doing what is right for the customer.
I am not surprised. I had a VP (when I was a director in operations) who 'cooked the books' when it came to the operation of the GCSC's.
CEO and CFO are responsible for accurate reporting of public financials including statistics as well as the employees making and approving false entries should be held responsible. Login info will identify those employees and supervisors.....
This all sounds eerily similar to what T is doing today with it's Next up plans

with this lawsuit, who's gonna be the next sacrificial lamb?
I wonder just how much further this will put them in debt, and how many more employees will have to be outsourced or let go because of it. I also wonder what else has been going on, that nobody knows about yet. This could be the kiss of death for T. They will lose millions of customers over this law suit.
This effected me directly and is why I left in 2017. Stupid that we bought dtv when that money could of been spent on streaming with uverse. But management is in love with anything wireless. I remember how my manager was boasting about the dtv now numbers in June 2017. What a d-bag. T is full of them. I hope someone sees jail time but like t does with everything they just pay someone and pass the cost onto the customer or lay-off more employees. Bunch of d-bags patting each other their backs believing their own lies.
