Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There is a great deal of talk about the Altice purchase. So when does the deal close.

Thoughts ? It will likely expidite the rollout of EISP offers. Sounds like good timing for many.

FACTS: Altice can make an offer but the deal will never close due to anti trust laws. It would eliminate 1 provider in areas lucky enough to have 2 providers.

For those that do not understand anti trust-it's the same reason directv and dish were not allowed to merge many years back. Another example is many years ago t-mobile and at&t were not allowed to merge due to elimination of 1 mobile provider in a market with 4 major carriers. T-Mobile and Sprint are allowed to merge due to the fact that both are the weakest of the 4 providers.

$10k/year of service? The place would empty out....they wouldn’t be able to accommodate all of the requests to leave....many junior seniority guys wouldn’t make the cut line for sure...I don’t know where people get these rumors from...I’d love to see it actually happen though....

At $10,000 for every year of service the ink from my signature will still be wet when I mail the form back.

@ndr .... your "reliable" source is full of sh–. The contract is set until the next bargaining. Regardless of who would want to buy the company the contract stays in force as it is.

Ignore all of that talk.
It’s wishful thinking by those who either feel they would benefit, or those who like to see people screwed.

It’s always talk until after it happens.

Here's hoping Altice can succeed where Lowell failed.

I heard from a very reliable source Altice won't be taking the existing union contract as is. They will be requesting the no layoff clause be removed to close the deal.
