Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

3rd quarter guidance weak already

Any gains this week are gone. Looks like good opportunity for hedge fund to pick up another billion. This ain’t pretty.

JJ Abram seems to like that Warnermedia has strong distribution both movies and TV.

Can't yet see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you can imagine it from here. :)

Come on, it is not exactly new news that Direct TV is a debacle. In other words, it is priced into the stock, and has been for quite a while. Now, if it was the same kind of news, but we're talking wireless, then timber.
AT&T close - down 36¢. The news was baked into the stock last December.

Shoot - $38 showing on my CNBC app? We're doing fine. Let's not ignore the elephant in the room, namely plunging interest rates.

People have to get yield somewhere, and due to central bank meddling with debt markets, dividend paying stocks will do well. That's why I told people here on this board at the beginning of this year to buy at $30, because and only because of this central bank destruction of free markets. Of course, diversify and buy other dividend payers too.

If they follow some of the suggestions offered by Elliot and I don't see why not, there is further upside. For example, they need to get rid of these itty-bitty offices that don't offer economies of scale. One thing AT&T has is a lot of fat, and it's better to go on a diet when fat than if they were already skinny.
