The rumor I heard is there was an L4 meeting on 8/16 and possibly we'll hear an announcement tomorrow on 8/19 about reorganization & outsourcing. I also heard AF will be in Middletown sometime this month. Maybe then the building will be cleaned up a bit.
The contract with IBM is for 5 years, the offer from IBM to the transferred employees is only for 1 year.
Is the 5 yr deal simply the contract with IBM? The way this was written, it sounds like 5 yrs includes maintaining the employee which would be hard to believe.
It is a 5 year deal with ibm, but you are a fool if you think they will maintain salaries after the 1st year. They probably won't even retain many of the people.
Nevermind that healthcare is over 300% higher, 401k matching is lower for most, bonuses are lower and less likely to pay out due to missed targets, and you lose any service discounts. For an extra kick in the balls, there is effectively no severence.
So even if salary is maintained by IBM, you take home income is going down a hell of a lot.
I was advised IBM have a 5 year contract with T and after Tech Dev contract year is up, IBM will renew there contact and let them keep the same pay they are receiving as of now.
Yes, it is true, this meeting in NJ was mentioned in our staff meeting.
I have not received anything. Someone told me there is a L4 and above mtg in New Jersey later this month to decide what to do. I don't know if this is valid, but it's what I heard.
