Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

workforce 2020 -didnt give randy any credit. but outsourcing it all. wow

ATO will be a skeleton crew when its over and they won't have to pay some huge severance across the board. IBM and whoever runs consumer will run those folks out of the company thru reduced pay, benefits and work environment. i didn't think the ATT leadership had a plan, but they did. the budgets are a joke going on year 5. there won't be many employees left here when its' over in the next year. better think about other options or have a plan....because this is over.

I was moved to Amdocs in the last great migration. It s—ed. It'll s— for you too. They bleed their people dry, because they have many more cattle overseas to fill your seat. It's big business and company X doesn't give a rats @ss about you.

for the move to ibm, that 1 year guarantee is your severance and built into the new contract, it will be a bad work environment and most will choose to find other employment before the year is up -if they can. we know there are not a lot of projects happening here now. for the consumer side, same thing will occur..the gravy train its over

zyd -better do some homework. when att employees were moved to amdocs. it ended badly and all of their benefits were different within 6 months. biz environment, vaca, sev, pay/bonus, etc.

att mgmt made a play here and they'll cook the books without issue.

@zyd, got a little bad news for you....”giving up” your severance probably won’t be an option that you will have, or be offered. If you’re furloughed to IBM, or another company...no severance.

If you refuse to go, T “may” keep you but they also have the right to let you go without a Severance considering you refused the transfer to other employment that was offered. That may also hinder future unemployment benefits for the same reason.

Should T gives us a ‘voluntary’ I suggest everyone, who is ready to jump, take it because moving forward it will be a rare future occurrence. And If it’s a voluntary severance, no unemployment....and the state will know it.

true ATO employees won't be att employees soon, but the business/marketing/support orgs will also feel major pain and massive cuts. there is no work except sustainment at this company and now even first net is getting dispatched

My plan is to milk this cow until it falls over and dies. The past 2 years have been the most kickback years i have worked here, i do the bare minimum and don't stress over deadlines or metrics.. No way in hell im i giving up my severance and letting ATT off the hook for my unemployment benefits for a year .
