Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Got my surplus package today d3

my question is if i do get surplussed, and cant bump (we got hit hard) im a CORE i&R tech with 6 years. what are my options as far as severance, do i get a call if jobs open back up (yea right) legit question though, and unemployment how does that go? ive never filed before. We were told once we started doing dtv before coming to Core side my manager told us if we didnt like it and didnt want to do it he would be more than happy to pay unemployement. as a wire tech he said 400-500? wasnt sure if that was weekly or monthly. ive always worked but if it came down to it does it go off of core pay?

Unemployment is different from state to state, NC is 350 max for 20 weeks max, meaning you can get less money for less time.
They will calculate your package by T and you won’t get a dime until you exhaust T money, I am going through the process right now, ideal situation is to find a job as fast as you can do you save the Severance money.

Ok for severance information refer to your union contract. I really doubt they will call for jobs, once you. Are gone you can apply and re hire. Unemployment money is a state thing, and you need to review your states unemployment website.

The MAX unemployment draw in FL is $275 a week regardless of how much you used to make.

The writing is on the wall, T now stands for "Titanic" ... T will be cutting employees from this point forward, that is their only game plan now... Randall and his cronies don't have any clue how to run this company.. they only know how to crash and burn this ship into the ground... If you are still in denial and not preparing for your next job at this time then you are partly to blame for any hardships you will get when you are cut by T.. Save your money, reduce spending, get as much training now, polish your resume .. don't believe your supervisors, they are probably so used slurping the T kool aid to know any better. There are a lot other better manged companies than T out there .. unless you are just waiting to get axed coz you are so close to retirement anyway, I would advise you look out for yourself and yours... to hell with AT&T.. save your own asses ... I know as I have been there back in March (surplused after 20 years) ... there were a lot of us, a few years from MR75 ... I am working in a new job now .. yes its lower pay but I get to sleep at night again and don't have to stress myself so much .. there is life (much better) after T .. good luck to you all ...

tl;dr: check your relevant state law or with your local unemployment office

Most states have unemployment calculators that can help estimate your benefits. Also check to make sure you’re not waiving your right to collect unemployment by accepting a package from AT&T.
