Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Eye on Minneapolis?

In the last year our credit and collections office in MPLS has gotten MANY visitors. Managers flying in from all over to "get a tour, and learn about us" We have had several manager buy outs within the last few months as well. Rumors all over the office. Budget cuts, our Alliance program being shut down. Most recently. "Work Force Management" flew in on Tuesday and spent all day Tue and Wed listening to calls, sitting in with people, and "learning about what we do" (We called them The Bob's). Is this a sign of things to come? Is anyone who has actually been laid off familiar with "Workforce Management" scoping out the office prior to any announcements. The management and higher ups here have been very hush hush and are very aware of the constant lay off rumors floating around but have done nothing to stop it, or reassure us.

Yep, Minneapolis has laid off my team from the call center yesterday. Wish I would have seen this earlier

If you are in Joni Arison in Rachel Simon's org then they are looking to outsource call centers to Mexico. Joni has over 3000 in Mexico now and has an unknown target to increase.

What Center did that happen too? That is exactly what they did. They wanted to "see the systems" as well, but asked "how customer's could be more self sufficient?" That was not a reassuring thing to hear. Two were Project Managers and two were Work Force managers" They sat down with about 8-10 reps between two days.

That’s what happened at a previous call center. They brought in project managers to see what we did, sat down with a few reps, listen to calls, see the systems. Then a year later the center was closed.
