Premtechs disciplined in midwest for not WiFi mapping

A director in the Midwest has written up 2 perm techs so far for not WiFi mapping a house after the customer refused the techs. The tech are good techs and good people. This director didn’t care that the customer refused the mapping. Hey Andy “ No means No””

People don’t like to hear the truth, most customers have WiFi issues because of lazy wiretechs drilling and installing the RG behind the NID. So they don’t go into the crawl space and install the RG in a centralized spot in the house.
I remember when start pay for premtech was $9 and people did a better job because there was no union to defend leur laziness. Notice the more they paid them the less they wanted to do.

“Prem techs can’t shut up. They tell customers way to much of inaccurate information.
Like cable is old, you have bridge tap, we don’t guarantee speed and on and on. “

Well dic—ad...the cable is f—ing old..replaced any spans lately? Yeah some areas have a lot of BT. I would love to cut it out and at times do if it doesn’t burn my time up. 100 pair feeder in a ped up the road you bet I’m stealing your f—ing work so I don’t gave to wait for your fat a– to finish lunch.

“Install the service and shut up. If you have an outside issue, say there is an outside issue we will resolve it to restore service.”

I won’t be holding my breath.

“Forget about telling the customer what your selt says...”

Okay, tell my manager then. I don’t need a selt test to find an open, short, BT or high open. I’ll blow it open myself. khoms, unbalanced pairs...naaa cable is good must be wire techs fault. But I’m required to run it and report so we can wait for your slack a– to mosey out and close ticket under a lie. So don’t act like your job requires some kind of special skill set. You are just another self righteous jackass.

Yes,your cable is old.
Yes, we do not guarantee our 3mps speeds through your entire house.
Yes, i mapped your house and you are better off using your non Att cell phone service as a hot spot

BTW do you want to buy some airties for 50 bucks a pop?
How is that any misinformation?

When dealing with management like this, you just have to CYA and play the game people. There are many ways of meeting this stupid wifi test requirement on each job.

I have tested customer's secondary wifi routers as being twice as strong as the POS RGs we give out. If this company really cared about the customer they would give them a quality RG to begin with. This is just a way to squeeze more money from our subscribers by selling them AirTies at $49 dollars each.

At this point, we are all part of the AT&T Hunger Games. Although good techs want to do the right thing and put the customer first, we have to always be aware that the sociopaths running this company are looking for any possible excuse to get rid of us.

In the past 10 years when I have had troubles with wireline DSL, I knew more about the infrastructure and wiring than 9 out of 10 techs they sent. The ignorant ones just want to replace the gateway rather than troubleshoot the issue. One time it was loose connection at crossbox that would loose connectivity as the heat of the day increased and the other time I recall was a loose connection at box on the pole. Both incidents required multiple reports and multiple truck rolls as the ignorant ones kept closing ticket with out fixing. Each time I got lucky and finally got a tech who would actually run tests and run to cross box (3 blocks away) and check everything. Prem Techs for most part are useless. On newly strung fiber now so should not have to deal with tech for some time I hope. Lousy customer service!

Wire mapping is stupid. How about getting a modem with more antennas. Nope. We will provide “best minimal effort”

Map the darn house. Plug it in when you install the rg. Tell the customer you’re making sure the wifi is working. Prem techs can’t shut up. They tell customers way to much of inaccurate information. Like cable is old, you have bridge tap, we don’t guarantee speed and on and on. Install the service and shut up. If you have an outside issue, say there is an outside issue we will resolve it to restore service.
Forget about telling the customer what your selt says...

Sounds like an agenda to me. Customer is the boss not the other way around.
