Reps in other countries have no way to transfer you to a rep in the US. And vice-versa. No question about it.

Its classic corporate game, isnt it? Its not between you & i: go blame the brown guy. Some naieve people fall for it and anger is misplaced. Guess what, while americans knaw at "jamaican" / "indian" blaming for loss of job, customers, bigwigs are relishing this show from their VIP box.

@1gnh has a point - no one from the Philippines or Malaysia or India or Coast Rica took your job - it was given to them by the sociopaths that run this company.

You need to be aware that the role of a modern CEO and the Board of Directors is to "maximize shareholder value". Period!

There are Federal fiduciary laws on the books that demand this course of action. This topic is a perfect example, if a CEO is shown that he can reduce costs by "x percent" and increase value by "y percent" by off-shoring - then to be compliant with the mandate to maximize - he or she MUST off-shore those jobs or risk being sued by the shareholders or the Feds.

Unfortunately for you, this means your experience degrades and someone loses a job and then we whine on the web about heartless corporate Sons Of Bs. Once we took ethics and humanity out of business - we changed from folks who cared to folks who could not care less - the perfect job for a Sociopath - hence we have Randall and his ilk.

Sick and tired hearing about reps from overseas, people always blaming others, the guy from India has a family that needs food on the table just like yours and didn’t come here to take your job, it’s your rich American greedy corporation and the greedy American shareholders that outsourced the jobs so they make money, you want the Indians to say no to work ? It’s also your corporations with the help of politicians that makes it hard for young Americans to get a degree in IT because the cost is too expensive, than open workers visa to bring Indians that work for half price and bring the wages down, you want Indians to say no to jobs? Come on.
You losing customers because consumers habits have changed, no one watch TV, prices are not competitive, 1gig internet in Europe is 29.99euro about $35, ATT is $70, in my neighborhood Spectrum 400mb is 44.99 ATT offers 100mb for the same price wtf.
Stop blaming others

I find this post amusing because your lucky to have a rep answer. Maybe you can slow your role, be polite and maybe they will help you.

I just got off the phone cancelling services in preparation for my upcoming loss of employee concessions, I called the regular 800-531-5000 number. The rep told me there is a group called CHIP that normally handles employee accounts and I should follow up with them if I don't see the changes reflected online in a day or two. The number he gave was 877-377-9010 but they are only open M-F 9-6 CST.

Used to be there was an "Office of the President" that handled employee accounts and any friends/family you directed their way - they got sh– done, but they were disbanded even before the merger.

Companies that use non-US customer service I try to avoid if at all possible. Which is nearly impossible these days. But embrace diversity, right?

Another option is when you call, ask for the OOP (Office of the President) to call you. In the past, this office was staffed with people who knew what they were doing or could get your request to a person that does. Not sure with all of the layoffs this year if this is still the case but it might work for you. Good luck.

The Jamaican reps's I have got always were real good to help me. Of course I knew what I wanted to do. No questions. You can jusr ask for a US rep, and they will transfer you, or just file a escalation on line.

Hmm, sounds like you have not heard of and fully embraced our company promoting Diversity? That means you should now learn Jamaican, Indian and all the other world languages... Don't try to impose your privilege on these poor agents.. We are in America which means we get to be stepped on by all the other countries...
