Here is hoping ibm doesn’t screw up red hat. IBM needed red hat more than red hat needing ibm.

I would think the employees converging with IBM will get a very attractive increase in there 401k & pension since AT&T stock is pennies to IBM's. Pretty standard during mergers but this is different , loaned employees? I would be p-ss-d if 1 day i worked for company A and the company sold me out.

Often, the firing of older workers is a pension cheat. Probably, the best defense to that is unionization which typically negotiates in contracts an inverse seniority layoff clause. While that doesn't provide absolute protection, it does reduce the problem significantly.

I remember under Legacy T, that the union workers in IT remained under AT&T along with 1st level supervisors, while 2nd level and others without union reports went to IBM. That said, back then, many hung around for years, but some were laid off. As far as I know, many of them made it to the finish line (retirement).

But now, IBM mainframes are a lot more obsolete, so I have no idea where this outsourcing goes this time.

So now ibm gets to fire all the older ex att workers next year thus saving att from another age discrimination lawsuit

Randall is a genius after all

That's not exactly what I call evidence- Some partial quotes out of context. Let me know when the lawsuit is thrown out.

Lots of cool companies want experienced workers. IBM will just do to the new employees in 20 years that it is doing to their experience workers and now lawsuit will stop the time me proven process unless some laws are passed that are actually for the citizens and the corporations. Oh wait corporations are people too lol.
