Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Goodbye!

After 20 years and 2 layoffs ... I quit and left for a better job with a competitor. Tried to stay and promote back up. No one helped me progress the past 3 years...when asked. 1 arsm said “you’re” on the bench to be promoted. Then she left for another dept. Had more store managers then one night stands. They want you to commit fraud to get a premium sale. However store door swings are down 30% y/o/y. Head count reduced by 8+ this year and no one is buying AT&T in stores. AT&T: you stopped caring when TMO started kicking butt. Do this: listen to customers, have US based customer care & RST. Too many hands in too many products that stopped holding value to the average customer. Focus on being the best at wireless and follow TMO CEO... he cares Randel doesn’t . So happy at my new job and left on my terms.

I left AT&T as well about a month ago, and couldn't be happier in my new position.

I also got the runaround about a promotion last year, which never came through.

After almost 20 years with the company... no one ever told me how to get a promotion. There was always more work to be done... but never any more money or titles.

The best info I got about how promotions were given involved a secret wheel of fortune that was only brought out periodically, involving some druids and secret chanting/discussions. If the window of opportunity closed, the wheel of fortune was put away. Of course, they never tell the employees anything. Other than "work harder".

I'm only half joking.

Classic stalling maneuver. Welcome to the School of Hard Knocks

If you all love T-Mobile so much then go get a job with them. You know... the company that’s not unionized, already contracts everything out, and is ahead of the pack racing to the bottom as far as wages and labor practices. Hint: They’ve been caught violating labor laws. Fools.

Thanks for leaving voluntarily the company saved money without paying a severance and another employee doesn’t have to worry about getting layed off.

Thanks for taking one for the team.

@zjx-you are a POS- some of us work retail because that’s the only option in our areas, some of us have put years into working here, and to say we have no skills and to “just work at Walmart” is f@&(+ng ridiculous! I can’t make 90 grand a year at Walmart with 5 weeks vacation. Do I like retail? NO, I HATE IT. Do I agree that it’s ridiculous we can’t match online offers? Absolutely, we should be able to offer anything that’s offered online, but it’s not us who make those decisions, so don’t demean us. I know retail is dying, days are numbered, and I’m looking around as we speak to get out altogether- but have some respect for those of us who have to deal with people like you who are entitled and come into the stores crying and whining about everything, god forbid you back your dam* contacts up or put your own screen protector on. People like you make me sick.

Other wireless carriers will give you on line deals in their store att just doesn’t cause you id–ts as senior management.

I’ve been following John Legere on Twitter for a couple of years. He is a real human, not a freak plastic man. Really admire the man and the TMobile employees ranked him in Glassdoor in the top 5 CEOs with employee approval. Where do you think other people rank?

Yes Mobility mangers do not care about the network, employees and definitely not the customer. They just want a green check to report up VZW and TMO are k–ling us. First Net will can not come close to VZW.

why we have brick and mortar stores any more is beyond me. I took daughter to store yesterday for new phone, they could not match deals online, went home and ordered the phone online for store pickup.. How stupid is that. Just close the stores, retail workers can find work at walmart or mcdonalds.
