Something tells me these will be the same people trying to squeeze through the picket line with their faces covered as they complain about "harrassment" from being called out as a scab. The company thinks its got a prime position to bend everyone over a barrel, and they have good reason to think they're right when social media is full of these babies badmouthing their own union. At least have the foresight to keep your terrible opinions to yourself while it comes down to the wire, and maybe you won't have to deal with that hypocritical twinge if it comes down to walking out."

If you were observant or had been here since the South Central Bell or early Bellsouth days it would be apparent that our opinion of the beloved union is based on facts, facts like we have given up insurance benefits over the years and gotten nothing in return, the fact the union loves the democratic party, regardless of how crazy they have become. You are what is know as a tool, a tool for the company and mostly the union. The union, at least in the south east has not been worth the dues since the late 80's. You apparently have not been here since the good old days when the union sort of meant what they said. But you go right ahead and hope against hope that the good ole union will do something to help the craft folks.

Union is a bunch of b–ches they don’t have the balls to strike they just collect your money and go play golf with it. Completely useless.
I have worked in D3 for 22 years. We have worked with no contract many times and never had as much as a 1 day walkout. This will be no different, CWA and T will enjoy many expensive dinners together during the "contract negotiations"
Strike isn't going to happen. Now a dog and pony show for the members benefit. Yeah, that's going to happen. I like to get in the crane position at the front gate, and dare folks to sweep my leg.

Working at this place any longer is a lost cause. For now I'm working the forced OT building up my savings. When I have enough, I'm done with this company, canceling ALL services from AT&T, and never paying another due to AT&T's pretend union.

I think the union is going to allow the SE contract to laps for a bit. Reason I’m saying this is that the contingency managers are already being t’d up and a war room telepresence center created. I doubt it will last long though. But I think they will do it to let the workers think the union is fighting for them. Just a hunch.
They’ve voted no the first time every time for the past 15 years that I’ve been with them. Then when the second one comes around, they cave in because they are in fear of striking/getting locket out. They are openly contracting out all of the line work without fear of repercussion, so it’s possible that Article 14 might completely disappear. I would vote no every time because the old contract is going to be much better than what the company is going to offer this time around.
This is the truth. No matter what you vote the contract will pass and life will go on. I know it suks but this is how it has been for many contracts.
But don't give up. Keep working and making as much money that you can. If you get the chance look for employment elsewhere. There is life away from T, and you will enjoy it.
The lawyers have decided what the contract will be. Your bargaining team will go with that.
It's cute the way you think you and others (craft) have any real input into this or any contract where AT&T and CWA are involved. The outcome of all of this has already been decided by the company and the union and the talking and threats of a strike or action against the company are just that, talk. The union will do what the company wants just like most of the past 20~25 years or so and you will like or you can leave. Neither the company or the union will care which you choose, because the majority will just take it and then go on with their lives.
