I could care less about keeping customers whose sole purpose was to make sales numbers look good. Understand that most companies offer promotions but what genius decided to lock a promotional price for 2 years?

Someone said: "At&t just can't lay off all the sad, negative, unnecessary, untalented, overly self impressed but basically dumb dead wood fast enough. Only then will we succeed."

This is just another non sequitur slander of employees. It has nothing to do with the fact the company is hemorrhaging subs. Employees are a cost but the issue here is loss of revenue due to failing to "delight the customer" (whatever happened to that goal?). It's what happens when bean counters rule.

Customer today was convinced his orbi mesh WiFi was junk, causing his dtv now to frequently buffer, but yet he said Netflix and YouTube were flawless when I asked him. Then I showed him I was getting over 300meg Speedtest on my phone next to his tv and then it hit him, it’s the app service! Ding ding ding! Yupper skipper! I apologized as I was adding his newly ordered uverse tv service.

Another dtv now sub down!

AT&T should just cut their losses and get out of the TV business. They s— at it!

So, once all subscribers who signed up for promo pricing drop off, who will be left? There will be no growth, only decline. Subscribers who had DTV before the takeover hate AT&T's customer service. Why should they stay? They will only have those who don't have any other options.

You can't continually poo on customers and expect them to keep taking it.

AT&T gets upgrade.
https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2019/07/25/at-t-tv-subscribers.html
"Could AT&T be past the worst of the TV subscriber challenges? ...
“Near-term negative catalysts have played out, primarily video subscriber losses having hit what we believe are peak levels” ... "

Credit Suisse upgraded from underperform to neutral. That's why I take some of this with a grain of salt. One has to wonder if the rise in the stock from below $30 has played out. Dividend still around 6%, probably a little more upside, but if people were paying attention to them when they were saying "underperform" would have missed out.

168000 dtv now losses is surprising. People don’t want att software product. Must be like all the cell phone apps they write and we all use.
