Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Streaming - how many do we have and are we ever going to get it right?

Listened to a replay of a portion of today's Analyst Call and once again, it's the sound of water flowing over rocks as all the talk was about streaming, streaming and even more and better streaming.

I've lost count of how many we already have - DirecTV Now or Never, Watch Me TV, AT&T Watch Out, HBO Go Away or HBO NOW or THEN, then Warnermedia Flood Alert and today - tada - HBO MAX m-f-

It will all come true it can happen to you it's magic - as long as you wait until NEXT YEAR.

Meanwhile, customers are flooding the hallways on their way out of this madhouse.

That's called "streaming" too.

We are embarrassing.

Am glad someone brought up "rebranding" Dumbovan mentioned branding osprey as AT&T TV in his Q2 newsletter. I guess we are trying to distance ourselves from the disaster we created with DTV.

Of course nobody will smart enough to know that this is the same old same old, right?

Once AT&T TV rebranding is completed in Fall and we sell a majority stake of DIRECTV to Dish, the stock should rebound and our Stock options will be in the black again I can leave. Can’t happen soon enough.

It's because Stankey wants to say "I have a great plan to fix this disaster, nirvana is coming 6-9 months with this new shiny thing".

He outsources development because that "saves money". When the c-appy product fails, it's not Stankey's fault! Because that would be an execution miss, not strategy or capital allocation.

Got it?

Then he promises another new shiny thing coming in 6-9. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Streaming has an will be plans for long time. Uverse TV is streaming, uses same technology. If you can sell the customer an internet line and then deliver a video product over that connection you score the best of both revenue worlds with cheap delivery system. Yes currently my antenna works just fine on CBS just more button pushing to get there from my Directv Now.

i am quite satisfied with my reliable HD free antenna on my large flat screen in my game room that works even when it rains, and even when my internet is down. I don't have to squint to watch this c-ap on my iPhone either. There is nothing worth watching anyway on the 100 + channels of paid TV, but at least I do not see any old episodes of 'Friends' on my free antenna.
