Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Activist shareholder is a pretty big deal. I think we will see change. And we do still to this day have too many managers that are not needes

Not sure they could come in and cut anymore of the “little guys”, I have also read that Elliot has been know to cut upper management, and restructure from the top down, where a lot of the problems seem to lie, we are notorious for having too many chiefs and not enough people doing the actual work.

Wasn't RS previously the CFO (SBC)??? So,,,,,,, he possesses a 'Head Chef' hat,,, and possesses some 'cooking skills'??? Can anyone smell the 'smoke in at&t's e-suite kitchen'??? 'Smells like' maybe some of 'Enron's seasonings' are in what's brewing, 'cooking', and stewing in t's kitchen???,,,,,, perhaps??????

AT&T needs a new leadership team period. Randy, Stinkey and all of his direct reports should not only be fired, but they should payback the millions of $ they pocketed over the years ruining this company. They committed fraud and mismanagement - like Enron, some of these folks should go to jail.
Poor acquisitions like DTV, overpaying for a declining business is a crime, when so many hardworking employees lost their jobs - lives ruined by these clown criminals.
I believe in Karma, these guys will pay for what they did.

He is exposing the company!!” This is a joke. Wish I could have a multi-billion dollar hedge fund to attempt to RUIN tens of thousands of peoples’ lives. This is criminal, on both sides. Don’t lose sight of what’s really going on OP. Maybe you work for the company still, maybe you don’t. But this is deeper than the media will portray. This is calculated.

In no way, shape or form do I approve of RS, or his Johns, we have dealt with them far too long and under less than favorable circumstances, but do your research on Paul Elliott Singer, nicknamed Vulture Capitalist, and with very good reason.

His method of operation is to swoop in, buy up distressed companies (or their shares) until he gets control. Once in control his hatchet comes out. “Reorgs” and surpluses would take on a whole new meaning. He does restructuring and cost cutting from the bottom up and that would mean us and as ugly as this will sound, Randy would look good in comparison!

Many on this board are getting excited like he is the second coming....Other companies came to know Elliott Management as the devil they didn’t know!

Agree 100% w/ OP. The three main issues that Elliott mentions are watershed moments in the last decade for T. As a former Project Mgr, if I came in late, or extremely over budget, my tenure might be limited. But to totally fail (T-Mobile merger), I would be without a job. And to have one of the Johns run DTV and Warner would be like having Vince Lombardi coach the Celtics. Sure, he can motivate, but he doesn't know the intricacies of the business. And the results there are that DTV is a limp biscuit, and Warner may be well on the way to irrelevance.
