A person with integrity and a good work ethic can excel at any job out here regardless of who the leader is. Knocking on 30, all of the good in the trenches for u managers are gone. Best case scenario nowadays is having one that will stay out of the way. Never learned anything job related, life impacting, or inspiring from any of them.

I get new bosses every year at least. What I’ve found is if you’re looking for career advancement is, you start over with each new boss. Back to 0. I gave up on it. Now I look at my boss and think, no way I’d want his job. At this point though, I’m looking at the exit. Done wasting my time.
Put in 25 years and had 13 bosses. 1 outlasted me, but was recently fired. In that same time frame no one craft was fired from that crew. It always fell on the boss.
Managers come and go, most go in a matter of months. Craft employees still do the work regardless. Enjoy your new gig cleaning Walmart toilets.

UVerse managers go even faster. We average 2-3 per year. I've had managers who only lasted a week before getting canned or moved.

14 years and 14 LV1 managers. A couple of lv2 were what ever. LV3 have always acted as if their butttt hole didn’t stink... but they to were shown the door..
Some level 1 could still be good Techs but T doesn't allow them.
I agree but I am 1st level and feel that way about 2nd level. I'm sure we all feel that way about our bosses.
Your right, work ethic and doing the right thing, goes a long way, regardless if your management OR non-management, it applies to both.

Remembering starting out as a splicer in 1977 with Pacific Telephone.....1st lines were called foreman and most where I was were badass dudes.......quality craftsman who knew all tricks of the trade. They demanded respect and we gave it to them....lots of bearded ZZ Top looking bear drinking lineman and splicers getting it done.....ok sry back to reality
