Lol, this is 2019 and we live in a connected world where people can work anywhere and not tied to a cubicle. Funny, how we in telecommunication business and is unable to telecommute and boast that our Internet connection is one of kind! Lol but guess what? Ts internet is sh–ty and doesn't work!

Maybe if you voted for Mass transit, took a bus, took a train, or carpooled you have a better commute. Read a book, listen to the radio or music, or sleep while commuting. People have to go in the office to better compete in today's fast paced work. Don't complain on a site with union workers, will get no sympathy.

Nobody whines about commuting to a collaboration zone if you actually collaborated and it made good business sense. Most of us go to an cz where we may be in the same reporting chain but there is no value to the work product by being collocated. The conclusion we are drawing is that they can get more people frustrated who will quit. Or retire. Either way it’s sh*tty. If it made sense you could buy into it. But there is no value for most so can’t buy in.

Depending on where you are, GRTA Express out of Kennesaw and Woodstock can be comfortable and give time to catch up on the way in (free wifi). Maybe there's an express bus near you? I found free parking, express bus was 5 bucks each way, a little cheaper when you buy multiple rides. No fee for parking. And a short walk to 675 and 754 on Peachtree. Breeze card is easy to refill. I'm not sure about options to Lenox Park. Sandy Springs is about a mile from MARTA Medical (but the building is being sold). Would an express bus or Marta get you where you need to go? I'd hate to consider driving to Atlanta every day. Had to do it a few weeks back. Wasn't horrible, but would have been worse if I left after 6:00AM.

I worked from home for five years and then in a CO that is five miles from my house for another eight years. Now they want me to drive to an office downtown to collab. I'm not bitter about the whole thing. I'm thankful I had it made for 13 years. That's a lot more than most people get. Now I join the rest of the world and commute.

Obviously we have too many non-management still. Have a Happy Friday the 13th all.

• fjq I agree with you, only that I wasnt working from home. I wish I WAS! but I lived in a suburb area of Georgia up northwest because hell that's all I could afford. I cannot afford to live in downtown area. When I was hired 20 years ago, I knew where I was going to be reporting. Heck If I knew I'd be driving at least 64 miles a day and add to the already crowded population of downtown ATL, I would have said NO. Before you judge, know each others situation.. I am merely telling FOLKS here to DRIVE SAFE! I take I-75 DAILY and if you've driven those main highways, you would know what Im talking about.

Look at all those people u see on the roads , a lot of people drive to work everyday. I am downtown also, what bldng / floor has a space issue.?

Unless you have driven in Atlanta rush hour traffic, you really need to be quiet. I agree with the person who posted his/her concerns on driving in Atlanta traffic. I-285, I-75,I-85 and I-20 are the major highways that transport workers from home to their jobs and back again. Many of these highways are 6 lanes each way, often they move at a craw. Many of these commuters are coming in from the outlying suburbs commuting at least 60 miles each way with no public transportation to connect to MARTA. (Atlanta's public transportation system.) This is a difficult pill to swallow for someone who successfully worked from home for many years and proved they were able to make valuable contributions and then forced into this new arrangement that does not make any sense except to drive good employees to quit.

OP here - who said I was working from home?such HATERS. I wasn't working from home. I work at an office daily for like 20 years of my life then they DECIDED to hit me to report 30 more miles away from my previous office – because they want me to COLLAB. REALLY?

What the OP means to say is “ I had it made working from home and now that I have to report to a work location. I have lost all the perks to being at home and working in my jammies. It’s just not fair to expect me to be responsible for more than a few hours a day. I loath being around people and for my employer to expect me to be is intolerable.”

T doesn't care if you die, just so long as you do it OFF THE CLOCK so they have no financial responsibility. In fact, they would prefer their employees die off the clock. It's so much less messy than surplussing them.

Grow up. Seriously? You can't drive your car, what you are dealing with is normal driving conditions in a major metropolitan area.

Do you stay home on the weekends and cry about the driving conditions to your grocery store? Maybe you stay home and just have delivery because it's too scary on road.
